Exploration of Submersible Pump Malfunctions

1. Cable damage fault

Cable damage is one of the main causes of motor water ingress faults. Due to the installation of the submersible pump using a steel cage, after installation, there is a long distance between the submersible pump and the well cover. In order to provide electrical power to the submersible pump, it is necessary to use cable underwater installation. The submersible pump cable is fixed on an iron chain and hung to the submersible pump at the bottom of the well. The iron chain is fixed with flange hooks, but this fixing method makes it difficult to control the tightness of the iron chain, and the quality of the cable is relatively heavy. When the submersible pump is running, friction occurs between the cable and the iron chain, causing damage to the insulation of the cable. Water will enter the motor of the submersible pump through the cable, and in severe cases, it can cause the submersible pump to burn out.

2. The seal of the submersible pump is damaged

Submersible pumps operate underwater for a long time, and their transport medium is complex, which increases the probability of damage to their sealing devices. When there are many suspended solids in the water medium or their corrosiveness is strong, long-term operation can cause severe damage to the sealing layer of the water pump, leading to water leakage. In addition, when there are many sediments in the water, the impeller of the submersible pump is severely scaled, the bearing load of the motor increases, and the friction between the bearing and the skeleton oil seal outside the box increases, resulting in water intrusion. In addition, incorrect installation or inappropriate selection of submersible pump oil seals can reduce the service life of the oil seal and accelerate its damage
